The Association of Academic Health Centers International (AAHCI) 1st Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Regional Meeting was held on 18-19 March 2013, in Doha, Qatar, and was opened in the presence of His Excellency Abdullah bin Khalid Al Qahtani, Qatar’s Minister of Health and the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Health.
Co-hosted by the AAHCI, with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and its Academic Health System partners, the theme of the meeting was “The Path to Becoming an Academic Health Center”. We were delighted to welcome speakers and delegates from15 countries, including nine countries from the MENA region. Participants enjoyed a unique opportunity to network with academic health leaders from across MENA countries as well as worldwide.
